Nati nel 2012, gli Olden Yolk sono Shane Butler dei Quilt e la multistrumentalista Caity Shaffer, hanno realizzato uno split EP insieme a Weyes Blood nel 2014, seguito il loro omonimo debutto sulla lunga distanza, a cui hanno partecipato Dan Drohan (Tei Shi, Uni Ika Ai) e Jesse DeFrancesco, con la produzione di Jarvis Taveniere dei Woods. Il loro secondo LP esce nel maggio 2019, si intitola "Living Theatre" ed è un coloratissimo concentrato di psych rock, sonorità 70es e summer melodies di indubbio gusto.

Olden Yolk is the project led by songwriters Shane Butler and Caity Shaffer. Their 2018 self-titled LP enveloped listeners in a sound uniquely of-the-moment yet simultaneously time-tested, oscillating between art rock tendencies and delicate, yet angular ballads. On their second studio album, "Living Theatre", these lines jump from the page into an animated, breathing organism. Living Theatre conjures moments of stark minimalism and cinematic maximalism, most potent for Shaffer and Butler’s lyrical intimacy and vivid arrangements. It was conceived alongside percussionist Booker Stardrum and co-producer Jarvis Taveniere (Woods) in collaboration with Eliza Bagg, Frank Maston, Peter Wagner and Benjamin Levinson.
